The University of Informational Technologies, Mechanics and Optics
Scholarships for Master program in
Nanophotonics and Metamaterials
Get the education in the field of modern physics!
The enrollment for Master program in Metamaterials for the Fall 2017, is now open! We are glad to announce the scholarship provided by the Department of Nanophotonics and Metamaterials of ITMO University, one of the leading research centers in its field!
The Metamaterials master program (120 credits) gives deep knowledge in fundamental physics and provides hands on experience in laboratory work, technology, and numerical simulations, which are essential for industry or academy career. The study program covers the fundamentals of electrodynamics, quantum mechanics, and solid-state physics. The wide range of special courses delivered by young researchers includes modern courses in nanophotonics, quantum optics, numerical methods, radiophysics and others. The program involves intensive laboratory studies with the facilities of the centre: optical and radiofrequency instrumentation, laser writing technique, nanotechnology fabrication.
From the very beginning students are actively involved into the scientific work of the research centre. They are treated and act not as listeners but as equal members of the research team, which is one of the top-level groups in the field of nanophotonics and metamaterials. Deep dive into the active life of the department will give you fast and effective professional growth at following laboratories:
- Centre of Nanophotonics and Metamaterials
- Laboratory of Nano-Opto-Mechanics
- Laboratory of Light-matter coupling in nanostructures
- Laboratory of Applied Radiophysics
Our graduates successfully enter PhD programs in universities all over the world in the field of physics and engineering. The Department of Nanophotonics and Metamaterials has industrial partners both in Russia or worldwide (Bosch and Samsung).
The Scholarship covers
- tuition fees and university student accommodation for a period of two years;
- travel grant, which covers you expenses during coming to Saint-Petersburg;
- additional living allowance (over 10-20 thousands rub. per month) is included into the scholarship;
- the successful students will be also suggested laboratory assistant positions during their Master studies.
